Free Medication Treatment for OPIOID abuse
The Transition House, Inc. offers help to under-insured
St. Cloud, FL, August 23, 2017– Opioid addiction is the number one killer in the U.S., more so than traffic accidents, and the effects in Central Florida often exceed other major metropolitan areas.

“The Transition House has been helping the community with substance abuse and mental health diagnoses for more than 24 years.  As a recipient of funding from Alkermes, the Florida Behavioral Health Association and the Florida Legislature, we are able to offer Vivitrol™ medication, in combination with counseling, for the most under-served population – under-insured or uninsured residents at no cost to the recipient,” said Thomas Griffin, CEO for The Transition House, Inc.

The protocol for medication assisted treatment (MAT) includes a substance use evaluation, medical and laboratory services, administration of Vivitrol™ and continuing counseling services and medical follow-ups.

“Opioids, including prescription medications, are highly addictive and have been officially named an epidemic here in the U.S. and Florida,” said Griffin.   “However, using a combination of medication and counseling to treat the disease of substance abuse, recovery from this disease is greatly improved.”
