Plus\, hear from the VA's Viviana Figueroa and Osceola County's Veteran Service Officer Yinette Lizardo.\n\n\n\nAs always\, Coalition meetings are open to members and non-members.\n\n\n\nAbout Florida Technical College Veteran Education Benefits \n\nFor 40 years\, Florida Technical College has provided undergraduate education to our nation's veterans and active military personnel. The applicable State Approving Agency approves Florida Technical College for Veterans' Affairs and participates in many Veteran Educational Benefit programs. Veterans Education Benefits are provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs\, a third-party provider.\n\n\n\nAbout Osceola County's Veteran Services Officer\n\nThe Osceola County Veterans' Services Office (OCVSO) is led by an accredited County Veteran Service Officer who assists veterans\, active U.S. Armed Forces members\, their dependents\, and the families of deceased veterans. County-level VSOs are mandated by state law and are trained through the Florida Department of Veterans. The VSO staff can provide information and facilitate applications for federal VA\, state\, and local benefits. The Osceola VSO has an office on Vine Street in Kissimmee\, and a satellite office in St. Cloud at Veterans Memorial Library one day per week. VSO Yinette Lizardo has been Osceola County's VSO since May of this year. \n\n\n\nAbout the Veterans Health Administration (VHA)\n\nViviana Figueroa serves as the Suicide Prevention Community Engagement and Partnerships Coordinator at the Veterans Health Administration. The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) is the component of the United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) led by the under secretary of veterans affairs for health that implements the healthcare program of the VA through a nationalized healthcare service in the United States.
