October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and this week's 15 Minutes is sponsored by AdventHealth with a look into breast health awareness from Dr. Amber Orman.
About the Speaker: Amber Orman, MD, is a double board-certified radiation oncologist and lifestyle medicine specialist who joined AdventHealth from the medical staff of Moffitt Cancer Center and the faculty of the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine in Tampa. Her primary focus is on breast cancer, with an emphasis on whole-person care that encompasses the mind, body and spirit. Dr. Orman is also the co-founder of the Healthy Eating & Active Lifestyle (HEAL) program for patients and survivors at AdventHealth Cancer Institute. Her research interests include integrative therapies and their applications to cancer prevention, treatment and survivorship. She is particularly interested in nutrition and the microbiome.
Her past honors have included the John T. Royse Award, an award given to the Rose-Hulman undergraduate senior thought to be the most outstanding graduate, as well as selection for the John H. Edwards Fellowship for her outstanding performance as a student at the Indiana University School of Medicine. During her time at Moffitt, she was listed by her peers as a Tampa Top Doctor.
